Q: What solution(s) are you exhibiting and who are they designed for?
A: The Industry Engagement team in the Office of the Vice-President (Research) will help you navigate the many collaborative opportunities that we offer companies. Often, companies, research professors and graduate students collaborate via an extended benchtop model where the UCalgary team serves as your R&D provider, conducting research and optimization studies on a project-by-project basis.
Q: What is the advantage of your solution over the competition?
A: Companies create impactful research in collaboration with UCalgary. In the last 10 years, UCalgary has co-published more than 2500 academic papers in partnership with industry. On average, these publications have received more than four times the interest of similar publications. Our corporate collaborators include Johnson & Johnson, Schlumberger, Microsoft USA, GE Healthcare and GlaxoSmithKline, just to name a few. As a post-secondary institution, our approach is collaborative; however, one significant advantage to working with us is that that talented student intern that contributed to optimizing your workflow could become a valuable employee in the future!
