Are you a leading provider of Smart Manufacturing solutions and/or services? Presenting a Tech Talk is a great way to connect with manufacturers from across Western Canada and showcase your expertise. The SmartMTX Tech Talks are a series of presentations thirty minutes in length that allow manufacturers to learn about productivity enhancing and cost saving Smart technologies.
The Manufacturing & Export Enhancement (MEE) Cluster, organiser of the SmartMTX, conducted a Gap Analysis study in 2022 to create better understanding around how small-to-medium sized Western Canadian manufacturing business view Smart technologies and their applications. The results showed that manufacturers are excited about new technology but are hesitant to make investments as they may not fully understand the benefits and applications, therefore, view the technologies as high-risk investments.
Small sized manufacturers (<100 employees), representing 94.8% of Western Canadian manufacturing businesses, may also often not have the necessary in-house resources or expertise to effectively evaluate Smart Manufacturing technologies and therefore, prioritise other business needs over investment in automation, digital transformation, and Smart technologies.
The SmartMTX Tech Talks are the perfect opportunity to help manufacturers build understanding on how Smart Manufacturing technologies may help alleviate their most pressing needs and drive adoption across Western Canada.
