Main Stage Presentation

Topic: Technology Access Centres: Canada’s Innovation Intermediaries

Description:

Ken's presentation will cover the Canadian Technology Access Centre (TAC) model, and explain how Canada's network of TACs can assist small and medium sized companies in Canada's critical industrial sectors with their R&D and innovation challenges. A TAC is a state-of-the-art applied research and innovation centre affiliated with a Canadian college or CEGEP, specializing in a particular field of expertise and providing applied research, technical services, and training/knowledge mobilization. Canada’s 60 Technology Access Centres also provide opportunities for workforce training and regional economic development. Ken will provide examples of collaborative R&D projects between TACs and clients, as well as impacts and some of the clients’ tangible outcomes.
