Jared Adams is the A/Senior Director of the Performance, Data, Engagement and Communications group for the Global Innovation Cluster program. Jared has spent the last 15 years working on communications and innovation in some of the Government of Canada's largest departments and agencies.

Description:

The first program of its kind in Canada, the Global Innovation Clusters program is providing nearly $2B over 10 years to incent large-scale collaboration among industry leaders, SMEs and post-secondary institutions to develop and scale high-potential technologies in Canada.

The program supports five industry-led clusters in key sectors of Canadian advantage to build world-leading innovation ecosystems in Canada.

Budget 2022 announced an additional investment of $750 million over 5 years to be allocated on the basis of a competitive process to the clusters starting in April 2023. As the program enters its second phase, the Global Innovation Clusters will continue to build on their successes to date and expand on their national and international presence through scaling and integrating Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into global value chains.

The Global Innovation Clusters Program is set up as a dynamic co-investment model where every Government contribution must be matched by industry. Each of the five clusters work to build accelerated, innovative ecosystems that will take innovators further, faster through collaboration. The clusters are spurring innovation and collaboration across Canada, launching projects that are helping grow our economy and bringing tangible benefits to Canadians.
